A little About Me

I fell in love with cooking in my late teens, calling my parents for the recipes for the dishes I loved, and learning how powerful it feels to nourish someone with your own hands. After graduating from culinary school in 2015, I worked in Italian kitchens and catering, but my heart kept pulling me toward food that helps people feel well. Seeing my community lacked healthier options, I began Jessy’s Clean Meals from my mother’s kitchen in 2018, later expanding into a commissary, pop-ups, catering, and nutrition workshops. In 2023, I opened Jessy’s Place Café in Lawrence, creating a fast-casual space for scratch made meals, coffee, smoothies, and gatherings rooted in wellness and connection. Today, my café reflects who I am, someone that is devoted to fresh food, nature, and building a community where people can feel nourished, supported, and at home.

Something You Might Not Have Known About me.....

I’ve faced a lifelong battle with alcohol, and going outdoors really helped my sobriety—that’s where my love for nature began and I found a safe circle of people. Even now, as I navigate addiction, recovery, and relapses, I draw strength from connecting with others, spending time outside, and surrounding myself with positivity. I share this because stress and daily challenges don’t get any easier—it’s a fight I wage every day. My café, as transparent as I am, reminds me that despite the struggles, I have an incredible support system and a team who stand by me.
Even though I don't let my struggles define me, I still believe there is strength in sharing with others what we face in hopes that someone can relate!
